Rock & Roll- Rhythm & Blues Issue United States, 1993 NEVER FOLDED Booklet Pane of 8
Issued by the United States Postal Service on June 16, 1993, this mint vertical booklet pane of eight stamps honored seven Rock & Roll stars whose music was heavily influenced by Rhythm & Blues. The personalities included are Elvis Presley (2 stamps), Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Bill Haley, Dinah Washington, Otis Redding, and Clyde McPhatter. The Elvis stamp is similar to the first U.S. Elvis issue (see item# CY3), but, in addition to his last name being spelled out, there are subtle design differences.

This item is a "never folded" booklet pane, meaning that it was never folded or glued within a booklet; such panes were only available directly from the USPS philatelic agency and are more scarce (and trade for a premium) than the panes released in folded booklets over post office counters.

Mint, never hinged.
Scott Catalogue Number(s): U.S.# 2737a

The actual size of this booklet pane is 262 x 40 mm (10.31 x 1.57 inches).
