Space Achievement & ExplorationCircular Hologram StampUnited States, 2000
Item ID: SP39

This high-face value Space Achievement and Exploration Issue was the first circular stamp issued by the United States (issued July 7, 2000). The stamp features an extraordinary holographic image of the Earth; with the holographic animation design, you can see the Earth rotate 25 degrees east and west. The circular stamp is surrounded by circular selvage that features stars and text. Unfortunately, with holograms requiring a certain view angle for optimal appearance, our scanned image does not do the hologram image justice. The USPS supplied this stamp with a protective corn starch covering; you may see some of this in the image. Scott Cat.# 3412
