Description: This mint mini-sheet commemorates the ill-fated HMS Erebus and HMS Terror of the 1845-1848 Franklin Expedition (led by Sir John Franklin; 125 sailors on-board the vessels). The ships were trapped in ice in Arctic waters and abandoned; no one survived. In September 2014, the well-preserved remains of the HMS Erebus were discovered. The mini-sheet, with a single, high-denomination international rate stamp, features a multibeam sonar image of the discovered ship. The sheet selvage shows a diver with the ship's bell.
