The United States issued this set of 10 mint stamps on July 4, 1968. Nine of the flags are from the Revolutionary War era; one flag (Fort McHenry Flag) was flown at Fort McHenry and inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner during the War of 1812.
