A set of five commemorative stamps were issued in 1901 to commemorate the Exposition; a very small quantity of the three of the stamps were issued with their centers (vignettes) inverted (rare and valuable today). In 1898, the U.S. issued a series of nine stamps commemorating western expansion; the release of the stamps coincided with the 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition, held in Omaha, Nebraska. The item offered here is a mint sheet of nine stamps, with denominations ranging from 1 cent to $2.00 (as with the 1898 issue), that is a re-issue of the 1898 series.
