A railroad caboose, circa 1890s, is featured on this mint regular issue coil stamp. Issued by the United States Postal Service on Feb. 3, 1984, this 11c stamp was intended to pay the then current bulk mailing postage rate (discounted rate for large volume mailers).

The United States Postal Service commemorated the heritage of America's railroads with the release of this stamp set on Aug. 29, 1999. This stamp set has a 2007 retail value of $6.75.

Zambia issued this set of two mint souvenir sheets on June 2, 1997, to commemorate "Trains of the World." The interesting sheet designs include high face value stamps (one per sheet) that feature: a diesel-Electric passenger locomotive from the Royal Siamese State Railways and a "Pacific" type locomotive from South African Railways.

This attractive folded stamp booklet, issued by Yugoslavia on July 3, 1992 to commemorate steam locomotives that ran on the railways of Yugoslav countries, contains a booklet pane of six mint stamps. The booklet pane features the following steam locomotives: JDZ 162, JDZ 151, JDZ 73, JDZ 83, JDZ 16, and a Prince Nicholas' coach. The inside booklet cover includes text (in English and three additional languages) that briefly describes each locomotive. This attractive set of seven mint stamps (one is in the form of a souvenir sheet; click on image to view this sheet) was issued by Togo in 1999. Each stamp features an old locomotive: Baldwin 0-4-0, Baldwin 2-6-2, Baldwin gasoline locomotive, Porter 0-4-0, Porter 2-6-2, Vulcan 0-4-0, and, on the souvenir sheet, a Jordanian locomotive. This stamp set has a 2007 retail value of $6.40.

This beautiful mint set of five high face value stamps was issued by Guyana on July 15, 1990. Each stamp features a different locomotive; the depicted locomotive is identified by text on the stamp margin. Briefly, the following locomotives are included: Class 3F, Class A4, Liner Class A34, Pacific Class, and Grange Class.
