Four canceled stamps issued by Central African Republic on Nov. 18, 1977, to promote the 1978 World Cup Soccer Championships, held in Argentina (June 1-25). The stamps feature a player heading the ball into the goal, a backfield defense, a reproduction of an Argentina '78 promotional poster, and Mario Zagalo and stadium. This canceled set has a retail value of $2.00 (Scott 2007 Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, Vol. 2).
