With this June 21, 1982, issue of nine mint airmail stamps, Columbia commemorated the 1982 World Cup Soccer Championships. Held in Spain, this was the first World Cup to field 24 teams (16 teams in previous years). Each stamp features a different team emblem and a player in the team's colors. This set has a retail value of $9.00 (Scott 2007 Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, Vol. 2).
