The designs on this complete set of six mint stamps, issued by Vatican City on December 9, 1977, feature the following bas-reliefs from a Christian sarcophagi (250-350 A.D.) found in Roman excavations: Creation of men and Women; Three Youthe in the Furnace; Adoration of the Kings; Raising of Lazarus; The Good Shepherd; and Chrismon, Cross, sleeping soldiers (Resurrection).

The actual size of each stamp is 31 x 52 mm.
