On May 12, 2010, the United States Postal Service honored Katharine Hepburn, Hollywood's most awarded thespian, as the 16th subject of its Legends of Hollywood series. This item is a mint sheet of 20 self-adhesive stamps. The stamp was designed by Derry Noyes using a black & white publicity still by Clarence Bull taken for the film Woman of the Year (1942). The design in the sheet selvage is a scene from the play West Side Waltz (1981); the selvage includes a brief biography.
