The 50th anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal (August, 1942) is commerated by this mint sheet of five stamps from the Solomon Islands- the location of the battle (issued Aug. 7, 1992). The stamps feature scenes from this campaign, with small text descriptions below the images. The artwork on the large sheet selvage depicts aircraft on Henderson Field.
