United States, 1945. Details  Issued on Nov. 10, 1945, this mint stamp honored the U.S. Coast Guard's service in World War II. The Coast Guard is the nation's oldest uniformed service; it participated in every major invasion of the war. Featured on the stamp is a Coast Guard landing craft and supply ship.
