"To Form A More Perfect Union" Mint Sheet of 10 United States, 2005

The U.S. Postal Service paid tribute to the struggle for equal rights for African Americans with the release of this mint sheet of ten self-adhesive stamps on August 30, 2005. The ten stamp designs illustrate ten different key events in this struggle, from the 1948 Executive Order 9981 to the 1965 Voting Rights Act (information about each is provided on the back of the sheet). The sheet selvage includes a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. Scott Cat.# 3937.

Nelson Mandela Mint Mini-Sheet Canada, 2015

With the release of this mint mini-sheet on January 30, 2015, Canada Post celebrated Black History Month and paid tribute to the legacy of Nelson Mandela (1918-2013), an honourary Canadian citizen. In 1994, Nelson Mandela became the first president of South Africa to be elected in a free vote by persons of every race. The sheet includes one high-denomination ($2.50) stamp featuring Mandela- the stamp was designed using a photograph by renowned Canadian photographer, Yousuf Karsh.
