Details  Issued by the United states on July 4, 1975, this attached block of four mint stamps commemorates the 200th anniversary year of the U.S. military Services. The designs feature uniforms worn by the Continental Army, Navy, Marines, and Militia during the American Revolutionary War. The stamp, issued on June 17, 1975, features a part of the painting "The Battle of Bunker Hill" by John Trumbull. Details  This set of four mint stamps, issued by the United States on March 25, 1975, honors the following four heroes of the American Revolutionary War: Sybil Ludington ("youthful heroine"), Salem Poor ("gallant soldier"), Haym Solomon ("financial hero"), and Peter Francisco ("fighter extraordinary"). Inscriptions on the back of each stamp (in emerald green; under the gum) briefly tell the story of the individual featured on the front of the stamp. Details  The Boston Tea Party, the historical event that preceeded the American Revolutionary War, is attractively depicted on this attached block of four mint stamps. Details  Issued between February and September of 1973, this set of four mint stamps commemorates the role of communications in spurring the American Revolution. The stamps feature pamphlets being printed on a press, posting of a broadside (message), a colonial post rider, and a drummer summoning minutmen. Price: $1.60   Item ID: AM103 American Bicentennial Niger, 1976 Cancelled Sheet Details  Niger issued this souvenir sheet on Apr. 8, 1976, to commemorate America's Bicentennial. The cancelled sheet includes a single high-value stamp (500 francs) depicting "the start of the fighting" and, in the sheet selvage, a portion of the Declaration of Independence in the background and the "Line of the Minute Men" quote by Captain Parker (engraved on a rock).
