This mint, imperforate (no perforation holes; as issued), sheet of four stamps was issued by Australia in 1978 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first trans-Pacific flight. Two Australians (Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm) and two Americans (Harry Lyon and James Warner) flew in the aircraft "Southern Cross" from Oakland, California, to Brisbane, Australia.
