On the occasion of the automobile centenary, St. Vincent commemorated automotive pioneers and vehicles with the issuance of this mint set of four stamps on December 4, 1987. These high face value stamps feature Carl Benz (1844-1929) and the Velocipede (patented in 1886), Enzo Ferrari (b. 1898) and 1966 Ferrari Dino 206SP, Charles Rolls (1877-1910) and 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, and Henry Ford (1863-1947) and the Model T Ford.
