Issued by the United states on July 4, 1975, this attached block of four mint stamps commemorates the 200th anniversary year of the U.S. military Services. The designs feature uniforms worn by the Continental Army, Navy, Marines, and Militia during the American Revolutionary War.

Issued by the United States during 1936 and 1937 (these stamps are over 70 years old), this set of five mint stamps honored the U.S. Army and paid tribute to its heroes and early leaders. This attractively engraved mint stamp was issued on May 28, 1948, to honor the four heroic United States Army chaplains who sacrificed themselves for their comrades when the S.S. Dorchester sank on February 3, 1943. Two ministers, a priest, and a rabbi, they gave up their own life vests so that others might live. Three of the four chaplains were Boy Scouts or Boy Scout Leaders.

Issued on October 27, 1948, this mint stamp marked the 50th anniversary of the Rough Riders, the Army's First U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment. Commanded by Col. Leonard Wood and Lt. Col. Theodore Roosevelt, they are best remembered for their spectacular performance in the Battle of San Juan Hill, Cuba (July 1, 1898) during the Spanish-American War

This mint stamp, issued on August 19, 1949, commemorated the 83rd and final encampment (August 28 at Indianapolis, IN) of the Cival War Union-veterans' organization known as the Grand Army of the Republic.

Featuring a Cival War Confederate soldier and a United Confederate Veteran, this mint stamp commemorates the final reunion of UCV on May 30, 1951 (also the stamp issue date), in Norfolk VA. The UCV was organized in New Orleans in 1889.

This mint stamp was issued on september 11, 1952, to honor the women in the U.S. armed services. The image depicts women in uniform from each of the four armed services: Marine Corps, Army, Navy, and Air Force. More than 40,000 women served in World War II.

General George S. Patton, Jr. and the armored forces of the U.S. Army are honored on this mint stamp (issued Nov. 11, 1953). Patton was a hero of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. The stamp design features Gen. Patton and Patton tanks in action.
