The United States Postal Service paid tribute to the 38th U.S. president, Gerald R. Ford, with the issuance of this mint, self-adhesive, plate number block of four stamps in 2007 (corner block from the originally issued sheet of 20 stamps; the block you receive may be from any of the four sheet corners). A republican, Ford was the only U.S. president (1974-1977) elected neither president nor vice president; he attained these positions following the resignations of Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew, respectively. Note that President Ford was an avid stamp collector.
