The headdresses are from the following tribes/nations: Assiniboine, Cheyenne, Comanche, Flathead and Shoshone. The booklet pane term "never folded" refers to a pane that was not glued into a booklet & has never been folded (as would be a pane that was placed in a booklet); these panes were not available over post office counters or vending machines and, being in pristine condition and scarcer than folded panes, are valued at a premium. This mint sheet of seven stamps, issued by the United States Postal Service on March 29, 2001, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the 1901 Pan-American Exposition (Buffalo, New York). A set of five commemorative stamps were issued in 1901 to commemorate the Exposition; a very small quantity of the three of the stamps were issued with their centers (vignettes) inverted (rare and valuable today). This "centenary" sheet reproduces these inverts.
